The Carpathian Newt (Lissotriton montandoni) is a species of salamander in the Salamandridae family. It is found in Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, arable land, pastureland, rural gardens, and ponds. It is threatened by habitat loss.
